Affectionately known as “TORCH”, this stallion is absolutely unique with his striking liver chestnut colour and his fiery red mane. A Tale Of The Cat is the only stallion offered in Australia by High Brow Cat out of Autumn Boon and with such a spectacular pedigree he has already produced world-class offspring with phenomenal cow sense, a perfect mindset and trainability, as well as cat-like reflexes that will be an outstanding addition to any cutting horse or breeding program.

Most prominent is his world-class breeding, which is second to none, being sired by USD 94M High Brow Cat out of the legendary USD 2.5M+ Autumn Boon. Both attained the USA Cutting industry’s highest accolade by being inducted into the NCHA Hall of Fame. Autumn Boon is also the most prolific mare ever produced from the NCHA Hall of Fame No. 1 cutting mare of all time, USD 9M+ Royal Blue Boon. She ranks as the fourth all-time leading cutting dam, trailing only her mother — Royal Blue Boon — Sweet ABRA — and Stylish Play Lena.
TORCH is the 3rd highest all-time money earner out of Autumn Boon and with his unequalled genetics, striking good looks, conformation, and gentle charismatic aura, this 14.3hh, liver chestnut quarter horse stallion (with his fiery red mane) is now being recognised as a world-class sire.
Training & Showing
Torch went through his cutting program with Open Hall of Fame cowboy Jason Clark for owner Robert Charles Brown who purchased the stallion as a two-year old.
Torch with Jason on-board were favourite to win the 2014 NCHA Open Futurity but after the semi-finals he started to show signs of colic and the rush was on to stabilize him. Even though this occurred, the two finished 7th and in 2015 went on to show at the highest level competing in events including the Summer Spectacular, Breeders Invitational and Cotton Stakes.
An ownership change side-lined the stud somewhat early in his show career until ATOC Partners, LLC acquired him in February, 2019. He had limited private breedings 2016 through 2018 and was offered to the public for the first time in 2019. From the small number of breeds in 2019 Torch’s first professional crop of foals will compete in the 2024 NCHA Texas Futurity.

Cow horse Disciplines
TORCH’S progeny are having success in the cutting and reined cow horse arenas. That can be attributed to the fact that his offspring are physically a much stronger type of horse with good trainable minds.
